Sandra Blankenship - Democrat
I am running for TX Representative District 54 to change the "what's in it for me" philosophy that is permeating the political process. We have things to accomplish that will propel the State of TX into a more progressive future.
I am a nurse, Advocate, Wife, Mother, and Environmentalist. I have been a nurse for over 15 years and graduated from Central Texas College.
I am from the Warren Wing of the Democratic party and firmly believe that progressive policies will make this state great for all people and not just for the millionaires and Billionaires.

Scott Cosper - Republican
Mayor Scott Cosper of Killeen has announced his candidacy for the Texas House of Representatives, District 54, to succeed retiring Rep. Jimmie Don Aycock.
A Republican, Cosper has served as Killeen’s mayor since 2014 and previously served for nine years on the city council. He serves on the Foundation Board for Texas A&M University Central Texas, the Advisory Board for McLane Children’s Hospital, and holds several leadership roles in regional transportation and economic development organizations. Cosper is also secretary of the Texas Military Mayor’s Council and serves on the Fort Hood Second Runway and Airfield Capabilities Expansion Task Force.
Cosper expressed gratefulness for Rep. Aycock’s years of service. “During my time as Mayor, Rep. Aycock has been a trusted friend and partner in the Texas House. He will no doubt continue to be a pillar of the community and I wish him and Marie well in their next chapter of life.”
“With growing cities, charming villages, rolling ranchlands, and a major military installation, District 54’s next representative needs the same deep knowledge of our area’s unique needs. My background of local service, business leadership, and conservative values have prepared me to be an effective advocate for Bell and Lampasas counties in the Texas House,” said Cosper.
A small businessman, Cosper is owner of Cosper Custom Homes and Construction and president of a local real estate development business. His term as Mayor concludes in May.
Scott is married to, Christy, a public school teacher, for 12 years. The Cospers have two daughters and are members at First Baptist Church of Killeen, where Scott has served on the building and stewardship committees.
